The Hot Studio
The 20 x 60 foot hot studio is maintained at at least 90 degrees using a state-of-the art system that heats and humidifies fresh air. Heat is important for several reasons:
- Sweating is the only way to eliminate certain heavy metals in the body and increases the elimination of other toxins.
- Heat increases the body's capacity for flexibility while minimizing the risk of injury.
- The heat creates a challenge to help your mind focus and be still. It shortens the time needed to release the tension, stress and resistance in you.
Please practice safely! If you're not used to the heat, you can acclimate yourself by starting at the cooler side of the room (closer to the doors and windows). Bring water and hydrate often. If you feel lightheaded, take childs pose and let your teacher know. If your breath becomes shallow and you are breathing through your mouth, take childs pose.
