RYT 200

I took my first yoga class in 2011. I went to yoga teacher training to learn more about the practice & get reacquainted with who I was. I get very nervous speaking in front of people & I didn’t have any intention of teaching yoga once I was certified. Thankfully Mike Curtis believed in me before I believed in myself. He creatively got me to teach my first yoga class & I’ll forever be grateful. I still get nervous sometimes before I teach & I mix up my words often, but instead of getting discouraged I laugh & turn it into something funny. ‘Just kidding’ & ‘Super fun’ are a couple of my favorite phrases. I hope that when students leave class they know they can do hard things. That no matter what is happening in their personal lives their yoga practice will always meet them right where they are.

Vinyasa flow is my favorite style of yoga to teach & practice. I love linking breath to movement, & being creative with sequences & transitions of poses. I try to be mindful when I teach & offer modifications so that each student can choose their own adventure. I like mixing different genres of music to create upbeat playlists.

The students are my favorite part of Yoga Bliss. I look forward to seeing them in classes & catching up on what’s been happening. I love meeting new people at the studio and making new friends!

I’m married & we have three children. I enjoy taking CrossFit classes with our daughter Mira, biking, hiking, & fishing. I LOVE animals. We have four dogs, four white ducks, a large cat, a bird, & two 150 gallon fish aquariums. If there were more hours in a day I’d have lots more animals!
