Yoga E-RYT 200, RYT 500, Barre certification, Physical therapist, TRX and aerial certification

I was drawn to barre initially, because I was looking for a challenging full body workout in a studio where I could be part of a community of like-minded people. Barre appealed to me because of my dance background. In my childhood, I was involved with several types of dance, participating in solo and group competitions. After several years, I decided to become certified to teach barre. From there, my desire to continue to expand my teaching abilities grew, and I obtained my rowing, aerial and TRX certifications.

During this time, I became interested in yoga as well. I was looking for ways to expand my knowledge to share with my clients and fell in love with the additional benefits of yoga. I was able to lessen my anxiety, adding meditation and breathwork was integral in dealing with my daily stresses. I learned to slow down, give my body time to recover and not push myself to the point of injury. I love teaching because I can share these gifts with each client. I am a physical therapist and have been practicing for 21 years. It is important for me to include modifications, cues for proper body alignment and injury prevention during my classes.

When I am not teaching, my family keeps me on my toes. I married my high school sweetheart, Dan and we have two bright, active sons. Dillon is a senior in high school and is active in golf and baseball. Brandon is an 8th grader and involved in basketball and baseball. Fun fact: I completed my yoga certification during the pandemic, online and my husband and sons were my "students" in my videos. We have a chocolate lab, Leia who is my best gal. I also love photography, walking/hiking, kayaking, reading and podcasts.

I am excited to be joining the team at Yoga Bliss, I look forward to sharing barre with this community and hope to expand on my yoga practice as well. I hope to see you in class soon!
