About me

I started practicing yoga while I was in medical school as a way to reduce stress and tension, and my practice ended up achieving so much more than just that. I became so invested in the idea of taking things I learned on my mat and applying them to other aspects of my life. I feel like yoga has given me guidance on how to navigate the difficulties I face in my job as a physician, while also reminding me of the beautiful aspects of life outside of that career. I became motivated to start teaching because it is so wholesome to build a community of like-minded individuals, and I wanted to be able to watch others gain what I have gained myself from my practice. I hope to share with my students the idea that what you learn on your mat benefits you in all other aspects of your life, whether that be knowing when to keep pushing strong and facing challenges, or when to slow down and breathe through discomfort—both are so important to practice on and off the mat. I am currently teaching Sculpt classes, but other styles I love to practice and hope to one day teach are vinyasa and power yoga. I enjoy teaching a class that is challenging both physically and mentally, but that also offers plenty of modifications and room to listen to your body. Yoga Bliss has given me a community that I both admire and lean on for support.

I have many passions! I am currently in residency training to become a surgeon, and I am very passionate about health, wellness, and nutrition both in the healthcare setting and within my own personal life. A lot of my focus outside of my career is navigating a life that feels balanced and harmonized. Training to become a surgeon has been a huge challenge, but I am working toward keeping myself happy and healthy throughout the process. I want to become the best version of myself so that I can provide the best care to my patients and the best yoga teachings to my students. Outside of medicine and yoga, I am so supported by my family and fiancé (and of course my dog and cat, Teddy and Nova), who have all helped me through this journey and support me in any endeavor I choose to face. I feel so grateful to have built such a strong support system, and that includes all the familiar faces I see at Yoga Bliss every week!
